Garden Decorative

I hope this hub will help you with your garden design, don't ever forget that it's up to you to get garden decorative. First thing first, you'll have to choose from several materials available. I have written a helpful Hub about Stone Gardens (that may also assist you if you please), but besides coloured stones and chips, you have other options and your garden decor will need other things besides stone.

So my suggestions are:

  • Colours stone: chips, dimensional stones, or rounded

When applying the stones to your garden, you should prepare the area. If the area is very big I suggest you draw the design on paper at the scale to make sure it looks balanced. Try to place every design at a measurable distance, so that when you start the hard work in the terrain no doubts exist to where each material has to be laid.

Also, to avoid weeds from growing, normally over the soil, you should lay a thin layer of plastic, important black plastic, transparent plastic will not stop the weeds from growing.

  • Bark

I have some experience with pine tree bark, I haven't tried any other type. You can lay a bark bed in the garden and you'll accomplish two things, give a dark brown colour to your garden, second avoid weeds. Bark will reduce drastically the weeds in your garden.

  • Natural Fountains

I have to confess that I'm a fountain fan, I really enjoy seeing fountains in gardens. You can find several types of fountains, depending on the look you want to give your garden, you have statue type fountains, ball fountains, etc.etc.

However setting up a fountain is more complex than it looks. Be sure that the fountain you buy has all the accessories included, especially the pump. To set up a fountain, you'll need to have on location fundamental things like a water, if it's a fountain with a tap. Or if it's a closed circuit fountain, you'll need electricity to power the water pump, so before you start make sure you have everything planned.

I've also seen gardens with ponds, very beautiful, but be careful it's more difficult to manage than a simple fountain.

  • Other garden decor

In this category we can just put anything, some flowers will be essential, and some bushes ... but that's not my speciality, I can't help you with that.... I'm really in to stone decor.

So I have a few suggestions, you got stone sculptures, that can be animals, statues, balls, or even stone benches ... these go very well in gardens, makes them look very original.

You also have stone furniture, I've actually pinned up a few pics that I hope give you an idea, their are thousands of options, if you look around on the Internet you'll find millions of great ideas for your garden.

Good luck.

I love the images of different fountains. There are so many different styles now that can compliment any indoor and outdoor decor. Thanks for sharing.
