Photo Editing: Find free online software

Download photo editing software for free, I have found some economic and helpful solutions that you can use for photo editing your family photos.

Everything has changed regarding amateur family photography in the last 30 years. Developing film rolls has disappeared, everything is in digital format ... which is very economical ... printing costs back then was a painful and unjust act. As you'd pay for the good pictures your have taken and for the bad ones with red eye and unfocused which was very frequent in amateurs like me.

Printing is also expensive today, but the quality and the opportunity to choose what you want to print, makes it a little more affordable.

Being digital, you'll have hundreds of photos around, on your hard drive, pen drive, memory cards ... you can find several softwares or internet sites that will help you perfect them, re-size them, convert them, and share them.

I've written several hubpages about free software, but this one is dedicated exclusively to photo imaging ....

I frequently use PAINT.NETwhich is free and very user friendly, you can download it at www.getpaint.net it has paying version, but all you'll need for now is the free version. Very good to convert, re-size, crop ...

Picasa 3, well still don't got an opinion on it, I've installed it recently, I've read alot of positive comments on it, I was impressed by the little I used it. You can download it free at picasa.google.com

Flickr at www.flickr.com, Internet has evolved so much in the last few years, however when we deal with photo imaging a huge problem arises ... any recent photo camera has very high definition ... that makes very good quality photos. Sending photos through the Internet can be a problem due to the size of the files, you can actually reduce their size, but consequently you'll be also reducing it's quality. This is where flickr brings in an advantage, you can upload your photos in it's original size. It also has some tools for you to improve or change your photos.

Photoshop is probably the best image editing program, however due to it's cost most people look for cheaper alternatives that sometimes are not as good. Before going off and spending some unnecessary cash ... check out Photoshop Express it works on-line at www.photoshop.com or The Gimp www.gimp.org. The Gimp is an opensourse software, it's very good an can do much of what photoshop does and for free.
